ABS seek home win against Enugu Rangers

Date: 2013-05-21

The Ilorin club will go all out for maximum points at home against tough customers the Flying Antelopes if they do not want to continue flirting with relegation

Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC have labelled their Week 14 NPFL tie against Enugu Rangers on Wednesday a must win game after the Ilorin club slipped to the bottom of the log.

Speaking after their defeat to Heartland in Owerri last Sunday, club manager Kabiru Suleiman Dogo said that the two consecutive away games that ABS prosecuted in Maiduguri and Akure and their failure to win all their home matches were the factors responsible for their current standing but assured steps are being taken to put an end to their bad spell.

He stated that his boys played very well at the Dan Anyiam Stadium and that they could have surprised Heartland if not for the goal the Naze Millionaires converted from a set piece.

"We are going home to regroup and ensure we come all out against Rangers. It won't be easy but we are going to do all what we can do to beat Rangers and thus improve our standing on the table.

"There is no way we are going to draw our home games because we are not in a good position on the league. That is why the game against Rangers is very important to us.

"It is a game we need to win so that we can improve our position on the league table. Rangers are a good side, but we equally have a good team that can go places," Dogo said.

The grassroot coach noted that Rangers would be a hard nut to crack but he added that his boys would be ready for them.

ABS  last on the league table with 13 points from 13 games while Rangers on their part have 18 points from 12 games to be placed 9th.
