Wolves to fly players in Eagles' camp to Ilorin
Warri Wolves have declared that they are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to have all their best players available for their Federation Cup quarter final fixture with Kano Pillars at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Wednesday.
To achieve their purpose, the media officer of the Seasiders, Moses Etu, told SportingLife that the club has concluded arrangements to airlift their three players on national assignment, to team up with the rest of the Wolves squad in Ilorin for the match before Wednesday.
Wolves have three players – Azubuike Egwueke, Joseph Osadaiye and Oghenekaro Etebo in the Super Eagles' team to Abidjan for the second leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Cote d' Ivoire today, and Etu stated that the three players would join their team mates in Ilorin immediately after they arrive in Abuja.
"We are not taking this fixture lightly at all. We have concluded arrangements to have our three players in the Eagles' camp for that match. They are going to be airlifted to Ilorin as soon as they return from Abidjan.
"We agree with the media officer of Kano Pillars (Idris Malikawa) that it will be a final before the final. Hence our decision to take the game very seriously. We respect Pillars because they are the league reigning champions but we are not going to be intimidated by them at all," Etu told SportingLife.
Warri Wolves edged Niger Tornadoes 1-0 at Akure while Kano Pillars halted the aspiration of Gombe United by the same scoreline in Jos on Wednesday.
