NDE to create 1,000 jobs in Kwara

Date: 2013-08-07

The Kwara State Coordinator, National Directorate of Employment, Mr. Safiyu Awosanya, has said that the agency will create about 1,000 jobs through its Rural Agricultural Development Training in the state.

In a statement on Tuesday, he stated that there would be 50 direct participants who would benefit from the training holding between 29 July and October 29.

He stated that participants would be paid stipends during the training while seasoned and well-qualified resource persons would be employed by NDE for the training.

He added that at the end of the training, participants would be linked with financial institutions for credit facilities for empowerment, gainful self-employment and wealth creation.

According to Awosanya, the scheme will be implemented within three months; one month for theoretical training and two months for practical attachment with well established and well managed farms both in government and private sectors of the economy.

He said that the RADT is a self-employment scheme meant for unemployed and under employed youths, graduate and other interested citizens in Kwara State.

The scheme, according to him, is also being implemented in all the states of the federation.

"50 participants will benefit from the training scheme and about one thousand jobs will be created".
