Traditional rulers from Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have commended the state Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, for embarking on people oriented projects that impact positively and directly on the economic well being of the people.

Giving the commendation at the Government House, Ilorin, the state capital, when he led other traditional rulers from the local government area on a courtesy call on the governor, the Elese of Igbaja and leader of he traditional rulers, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo III, said various road projects in the local government have not only eased movement of the people but enhanced the economic well being of the communities by attracting non-indigenes to the area.

"The construction of the link road between Share, Headquarters of the local government, and Oke-Ode has made it easier for the people to get to the council headquarters," the Elese asserted.

The traditional rulers also commended the state government on improved infrastructural development in the area, particularly in the health and education sectors.

Oba Ahmed Babalola said the visit by the traditional rulers was in appreciation of the fact that the governor was a good ambassador of the local government, adding that he should remain focused in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Ahmed assured the traditional rulers that all ongoing projects inherited from the last administration will be carried to fruition levels while new ones based on the need assessment of the people will be meticulously implemented in consonant with established national standard.

He said: "No community will be left behind in our resolve to spread dividends of democracy to our people.

"This is our covenant.

"This is our resolve."

Ahmed also used the occasion to advise the traditional rulers to enlighten their people on the need to sustain peace in the state during and after the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

According to him, peace is an important ingredient necessary for the enthronement of good governance and implementation of developmental projects and programmes by government at all levels.

Ahmed, who said his administration’s youth entrepreneurship empowerment programme through access to loan facilities remains on course, urged the traditional rulers to encourage youths in their domains to form cooperative societies in order to benefit from the scheme.
