Following the assumption of office of Mr Chinwike Asadu as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) for kwara state Police command, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has assured the new commissioner of his support, cooperation and commitment to ensure effective security in the state.

The Emir gave the assurance at his palace during a courtesy visit paid to him by Asadu, he urged the new Commissioner to discharge his duties with fear of God adding that all necessary support would be given to the Commissioner in order to ensure the sustainance of peace and harmony in the state.

Royal Times reports that the former Kwara CP, Peter Yisa Gana(MNI) was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of police and transferred to Abuja to work in the Investigation unit of the force.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari however advised the entire officers and men of the force to rededicate themselves to work, stressing that his door is open to the new CP and entire men of the force for any assistance needed.

According to the Emir, the slogan of the State, Peace and Harmony, shows that the people of the state are hospitable and law abiding.
In his remark, the new commissioner appreciated the Emir's hospitality and promised that its administration would work in line with the traditional rulers in order to create room for better understanding between the police and the state.

Report says that the new commissioner of police who is a lawyer, holds a bachelor degree in English. An Igbo man and hails from Enugu state from Nsukka Local Government Area.

He joined the police force in the year 1980 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP), he had served in various capacities within the force.
