Edu budgets N1.26b for 2012
The chairman, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Mallam Abubakar Egicintso Say'di on Monday presented over N1.2 billion to the legislative council as 2012 budget proposal.
Say'di described the appropriation as a budget to consolidate on the modest achievements of the council in the previous years in a bid to complete the on-going projects as well as executing new ones for the benefit of the people.
The chairman identified education, agriculture and rural development, housing and transportation as top priority In the budget of the 2012 finical year.
The budget breakdown shows that N62,000,000 is set aside for general administration, the sum of N55.279.970 is earmarked for tansportation while education sector gulped N55,000,000 respectively.
Others are staff housing w.ith the sum of 47,339,980 while agriculture and rural development got N34,000,000.
The council boss, who reiterated his commitment to better the lots of the people, urged the stake¬holders to continue to support his government to enable him deliver electioneering promises.
According to him "I must reiterate that I humbly appreciate your co-operation in the past years. We have to be prepared more than ever before to work as a team with a view to achieving remarkable goals to better the lots of the people of Edu Local Government Area".
Receiving the proposed budget, tbje speaker, Hon. Ndaba Kolo pledged that the legislators will accelerate the bill passage for the growth and development council.
