Goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso put up a scintillating performance on Saturday in Makurdi to help visiting Kwara United FC of Ilorin draw goalless with hosts FC Taraba of Jalingo.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Match Day 16 fixture in the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League was played at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

Ayeleso made several match-winning saves in both halfs of the game to give Kwara United their third away draw of the season.

Kwara United started the game brightly, but their front line was wasteful in front of goal and lost many glaring goal scoring chances.

The hosts were also guilty of missed opportunities as they pressed hard towards the end of half time to end their recent run of poor form.

Kwara United, which dominated some of the proceedings, took many shots from outside the penalty area but none found the net.

In the first half, Azeez Babalola’s shot hit the bar in the 34th minute, for Kwara United to end the first half on a high note.

They came back stronger in the second half but the resilient Jalingo-based club’s defence was up to the task.

The Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Tunde Abdulrahman, was excited at the result and gave God the glory for the result.

``I am very delighted we are not going home empty-handed.

``My boys missed too many scoring chances, but I hope we can go home and address it.

``I hope this will be a restart to our season again, as we plan to end the season on a high note,’’ Abdulrahman said.

The captain of the day for Kwara United, Halilu Obadaki, commended and thanked the match’s officials for being fair throughout the game.

He said if such officiating continues, the league would go places.
