Kwara Committed To Obtaining N23bn Bond - Ahmed

Date: 2015-07-06

Kwara State governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has said that the state would go ahead to obtain N23billion bond from the capital market.

Ahmed said his administration is committed to obtaining the bond which he said would be expended on infrastructures .

The governor spoke through his Special Assistant on Media, Dr Muideen Akorede.

He expressed optimism that government would go to the bond market after necessary structures have been put in place.

He added,” there is no delay. The government tried to access it,but there was a directive to stop lending money to states. Now, the governor has just come back having met with some relevant officials last week. So,before the end of the year, we will go to the market(bond).

” By the grace of God,we will raise the money, but some structures have to be put in place. Once the structures are in place, then we can go to the bond market.”
