Belgore, Alli condemn latest blast, proffer solutions

Date: 2011-06-16

Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate in Kwara State in the last general elections, Dele Belgore, has said that it is high time perpetrators of bomb blasts in the country are fished out and made to face the wrath of law.

Belgore, an eminent lawter, stated this just as his colleague, Yusuf Alli, proffered a different solution to the recurrent blasts that keep putting in jeopardy the nation’s security.

Alli advised that government should solve the problem by addressing what might be the grievances of the perpetrators.

The duo spoke in separate interviews in reaction to Thursday’s blast at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Belgore said bringing to book perpetrators of the blast would serve as a deterrent to others who may want to continue the dastardly act.

He said the blast at the Force Headquarters was a further proof that the security of the nation is under threat.

He said that a comprehensive investigation should be urgently commenced into the causes and brains behind the explosions with a view to put an end to such acts.

While condemning the incessant blasts, Alli said that in order to get rid of the crisis, the government might need to determine if the perpetrators have grievances that ought to be addressed.

He advised that no issue that could help to put a final stop to the explosions should be left unaddressed.
