Worshippers were also thoroughly screened before they were allowed entrance into the praying ground.

The two-rakat prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin Alhaji Mohammed Bashir at around 9:30 a.m, after the arrival of former Governor Bukola Saraki, Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Others at the praying ground were; former Chief Justice of Nigeria Modibbo Alfa Belgore, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Professor Is-haq Oloyede, Chairman, Federal Character Commission (FCC) Professor Shuaib Abdulraheem, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, among others.

The Emir of Ilorin in his Sallah message after the prayer urged all Muslims to pray fervently for end to insurgency in parts of the country. He hailed the peace and harmony in the state and thanked the governor for the feat.
