FEDPOFFA students, academics laud Etisalat in five years on youth development

Date: 2013-10-24

Both academics and students of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State have commended the telecommunication firm, Etisalat for showing genuine interest in youth development in the country.

The commendation came on the strength of the successful hosting of the Etisalat Cliqfest in the polytechnic recently. Many of the students, who bared their minds to reporters during the event, gave kudos to Etisalat for its interest in the future of the Nigerian students as could be seen from its youth-oriented programmes including Cliqfest.

They described the programme as a far reaching youth development initiative that would also help to improve the nation's educational system. Adewunmi Simeon, an HND 1 Electrical Engineering student, who won a brand new Kia Picanto car during the raffle draw conducted at the two-day programme, described Etisalat as an organisation that had not only raised the bar of service delivery in telecommunications, but also committed to contributing to educational development in the country.

"I have heard a lot of good news about what Etisalat is doing in the education sector with the Cliqfest programme, and I really must say that after witnessing this two-day event; both the seminar and the concert, they really deserve commendation," Simeon stated.

Dean, Student Affairs of the polytechnic, Mr. Adeyemi Leonard echoed similar sentiments, and thanked Etisalat Nigeria for bringing the Cliqfest train to the institution.

"This is a developmental programme for the youth, and has once again proved that Etisalat is a youth-oriented brand that is not only committed to identifying the potentials of our youth, but also to nurturing them so that they can act and stand on their own after leaving school," he said.
