'No amount of intimidation can stop me speaking against injustice'

Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki repreenting Kwara Central Senatorial District, at the National Assembly yesterday said no amount of intimidation and persecution could stop him from speaking against impunity and injustice in the country.

Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital shortly  after a special prayer organized to mark his 51st birthday in his Iloffa Road residence, the former governor promised to always champion the course of the masses.

According to him, "the youths are suffering for unemployment, those who are hoping to live a great life. People are suffering and facing some challenges, so, we will focus on making sacrifices so that we can all have a better tomorrow. We will be much determining than ever, we will continue to speak against impunity and injustice.

He further stressed that youths were potent tools to effect positive changes in any given society, due to their vibrant ability and fresh ideas.

He therefore, called on governments at all levels to involve youths in decision-making process to further enhance good governance and better performance.

His words "the earlier the Nigeria government realize that youths are the road out of its current state of affairs, the better for the country. And the major wheels needed for journey is youth empowerment and employment."

He appealed to his supporters not to be discouraged by the unfolding political event in the country advising them to remain focused and dedicated.

He also urged them to come out en-masse to register in the forthcoming voters registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The prayer which was presided over by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir and assisted by the Imam Imale, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulhamid was attended by the state governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Isiaka Gold; speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasak Atunwa; Alhaji Kawu Baraje; Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed; members of the National Assemblies from the state; members of the state House of Assembly.

Other are: Member of the state executive council, Local Government Chairmen and party stalwart.

The Chief Imam who extolled the virtues of Senator Bukola Saraki described him as a God-sent leader.

The Muslim leader charged politicians to emulate the sterling qualities of the Senator by paying attention to their welfare.

The governors of Kaduna,  Sokoto and Bauchi States were represented at the occasion.
