IPMAN Takes Measures To Avert Disruption Of Petroleum Products Distribution
The national body of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has begun intervention process to engage Ogun State government on road repair projects with the view to averting looming disruption of petroleum product distribution by its members.
It said the intervention initiative has become necessary because of industrial action threatened by Ogun State chapter of IPMAN to register displeasure over the state of roads in the state. During the week, the national body of the association tried to douse the tension when it ordered a halt to the threat. It urged Nigerians not to panic over the alleged plan by the Ogun State section of the body to go on strike.
Mr Mike Osatuyi, national secretary of IPMAN also assured that petroleum product distribution across country would not be disrupted. It debunked media reports that some of its members had threatened to embark on nationwide strike. The rebuttal contained in a statement issued and signed by Alhaji Abdulkadri Aminu, national president of IPMAN said, “We the national body of the union is not planning to embark on any strike, because we don’t have any issues with the government whatsoever. I appeal to Nigerians and all independent marketers to go ahead with their normal businesses and avoid creating panic buying ”.
